The Civil Society Legislative and Advocacy Center (CISLAC), in collaboration with the Tax Justice and Governance Platform (TJGP), has lauded Hon. Stanley Nsemo, the representative of Calabar Municipality in the Cross River State House of Assembly, for his efforts in reducing excessive taxation in the state. This commendation was given during a recent courtesy visit to Hon. Nsemo NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
Mr. Chinedu, speaking on behalf of the groups, praised the lawmaker’s bold actions to reduce multiple taxation, which significantly lowered daily tolls at various markets in Calabar. The teams also appealed for collaboration with the Cross River State Government in addressing this issue on a federal level and requested that any individuals involved in market issues be prosecuted.
In response, Hon. Nsemo reiterated his commitment to reducing the burden of excessive taxation and thanked Governor Bassey Edet Otu for his support in eradicating multiple taxation in Calabar Municipality.
