Calabar, Cross RiverStartling allegations have emerged against Philip Obin, a former Technical Assistant in the Office of Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Mr. Obin is accused of demolishing the business premises of Mr. Praise Omori, a young entrepreneur in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

The dispute between Mr. Obin and Mr. Omori appears to have escalated in recent days, with Mr. Omori making serious allegations against the former government official. On September 21, Mr. Omori took to social media to claim that Mr. Obin had committed malicious damage and theft at his office on September 19, 2023, at around 11 p.m.

Mr. Omori alleged that Mr. Obin, in a text message on September 21, requested a meeting, which raised concerns for Mr. Omori’s safety. He also claimed that Mr. Obin, in an attempt to force him out of his office, had threatened the local petty traders in the area.

The situation took a more serious turn on September 21, when Mr. Omori accused Mr. Obin of seeking political appointments and alleged connections to Dr. Betta Edu, the current Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. He expressed concerns about Mr. Obin’s potential influence on national matters.

Mr. Omori further explained that Mr. Obin had rented an adjacent property to his business and was pressuring him to vacate the premises so that he could establish a lounge and restaurant. He claimed that Mr. Obin had been threatening him for nearly a month before taking drastic action on September 19, demolishing his office and confiscating his property, including tables, chairs, devices, and money.

The aggrieved Mr. Omori vowed that Mr. Obin would not find peace unless he accounted for his actions.
