Calabar – Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing the Cross River South Senatorial District, continues to show his unwavering commitment to grassroots sports development. On Saturday, the 2023 Eze Igbo Youths Football Competition in Cross River State was officially launched at the Holy Trinity Church Field in Calabar NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
The event commenced with a thrilling match between Bedwell United FC and Highway FC, which was kicked off by Prince Charles Ekanem IV, representing Senator Ekpenyong.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong conveyed his congratulations to all eight participating teams and underscored the unifying power of sports, especially football, across various interests and ethnic groups. He also praised the diligent efforts of the organizers and pledged to continue supporting the Igbo community.
Engr. Obinna Nzeadigo, the President of the Igbo Youth Community, expressed gratitude to Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong for sponsoring the football competition.
