On Saturday, the 2023 Eze Igbo Youths Football Competition in Cross River State was officially launched at the Holy Trinity Church Field in Calabar NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

The event commenced with a thrilling match between Bedwell United FC and Highway FC, which was kicked off by Prince Charles Ekanem IV, representing Senator Ekpenyong.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong conveyed his congratulations to all eight participating teams and underscored the unifying power of sports, especially football, across various interests and ethnic groups. He also praised the diligent efforts of the organizers and pledged to continue supporting the Igbo community.

Engr. Obinna Nzeadigo, the President of the Igbo Youth Community, expressed gratitude to Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong for sponsoring the football competition. He announced plans to expand and enhance future tournaments, with the goal of nurturing young talents who can represent the nation in the years to come.
