Calabar the ancient port and capital metropolis of Cross River will play host to the forthcoming Bitcoin Halving Festival this Saturday. The event has the objective at commemorating Bitcoin halving which will takes place, this year, exactly on the 20th of April. The event is organised by Calabar Bitcoin Club.
Speaking exclusively with NEGROIDHAVEN, James Otudor a Bitcoin enthusiast, disclosed that the event ‘aims at primarily demystifying Bitcoin’.
Continuing, he said ”We want the regular man, or woman, the average Nigerian to understand why they need Bitcoin’, noted that three major events have been designed to mark the ceremony, namely, Walk for Bitcoin which is a Walk out Session scheduled for 6.30 to 9.30am from Millennium (11/11) Park, Bitcoin Eburutu, a cultural procession built for 11.30am to 2pm, and an Exclusive BTC Halving Party designed for 6pm.
Speaking further about the event Otudor said, ‘this event is going to catapult a large community where people can come in and learn more about Bitcoin, and how it will affect their lives positively, business wise, and every area of their life they want to relate with Bitcoin.
‘The event also is going to put Cross River state on the world map. Now we know Cross River state to be a tourist destination, Calabar itself being a huge attractive destination for tourists, now we are looking forward to building a brand out of it’, Otudor said.
The event is organised by the Calabar Bitcoin Club in partnership with iPayBTC, Digioats, Bitnob, NoOnes, and Machankura.
