Bakassi Local Government Council has stated its willingness to ensure success of this year’s Bakassi International Fish Festival NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
Chairman of the local government council, Hon. Effiong Etim Okon stated this in Bakassi when he received in audience the steering committee for the fish festival.
He described the Bakassi International Fish Festival as significant within the integral in the historical experience of the local government area and the need to forge sustained effort at bridging divides, boosting tourism and creating economic opportunities for the average Bakassi family and the international community.
Chairman of the Steering Committee and Leader of the 2006 exodus from the Bakassi Peninsula Settlements, Chief Ani said this years festival is the 3rd in the series and commended the chairman of the local government council for restoring administration of the local government council back in the area.
