APC Adopts Digital Screening for Aspirants Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has introduced a digitalized screening process for aspirants, marking a shift from traditional methods as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

The new approach was deployed during the just-concluded screening exercise conducted by the party’s Southern Senatorial District Leadership Forum, chaired by Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo.

The weeklong exercise combined digital verification with a decentralized format, enabling aspirants to be screened simultaneously across the three senatorial districts. Party officials said the system was designed to improve efficiency, enhance transparency, and ease the logistical burden associated with centralized screenings.

Aspirants who participated in the exercise welcomed the initiative, noting that it reduced travel costs and stress while allowing for a more orderly process.

“The decentralized and digital approach made participation easier and more inclusive,” one aspirant said.

Others also described the screening as thorough, citing the verification of key documents such as educational qualifications, proof of party membership, and other eligibility requirements.

Speaking after the exercise, Chairman of the Forum, Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo, commended aspirants for their cooperation and orderly conduct, which he said contributed to the smooth execution of the process.

He also urged aspirants and their supporters to maintain civility as political activities gather momentum ahead of the party primaries.

Party sources indicated that the adoption of digital tools and decentralized screening forms part of broader efforts to reform internal processes and align with evolving electoral practices.

With the screening now concluded, focus is expected to shift to the APC primaries, where candidates will emerge for the 2027 general elections.
