The reasoning of most people in Cross River State (CRS) is truly amazing. I won’t cry today if I broke any laws of the state and Ayade (under the full influence of Alphonsus Ogar Eba) that made Ayade come after me for breaking the law. Have people forgotten what Cross River State Water Board LTD (CRSWBL) stood for us in CRS? The water problem it solved, World Bank grants and the economic impact on CRS? Alphonsus and his likes pushed their interest above the state and converted land for our water board for personal use. Is that the type of State to celebrate? Should we not thank His Excellency Sen Bassey Edet Otu for wanting to reclaim our land for water board instead of being influenced by the ruiners of CRS like Mr Eba?
Come on, under whose rule were some of us in jail, Agba Jalingo and myself. Ifere Paul, Joseph Osibu, Mfam Mbia Asu survived it. For some of us that were in prison, we know how much it was huge celebration for the likes of Mr Eba. What do we say of Eba to APC members that tried to contest elections? The impunity of contesting elections against Eba’s consensus candidates was too much a hell anyone could dare. How democratic was Alphonsus Eba that we should cry for him because he is out of power?
Were they not ready to even kill when they had power with Ayade? I survived an assassination attempt I know Mr Eba was amongst those that rejoiced only to be giving me plastic smiles when we meet.
Have we bothered to know who may have killed Sen Jarigbe Agom’s supporter from Ukelle just because of primary elections? I may not have complete evidence but agents of CRS government allegedly instructed the Police to shoot directly at our supporters. Is a house built on water channels more important to all of you than the human lives we lost ?
Have people asked questions around human lives they took in cold blood murder because of elections? What happened to Charles Onwe on the eve of Sen Jarigbe’s primary election to the Senate in 2020? What happened to the PDP Ward Chairman of Wanikande Ward? He was shot at directly and he is crippled today. Why is there no politically motivated murder under Gov Otu today? Why the change in the political environment?
Governor Otu has never brutalized anyone since he became Governor. In AYADE’s time, Alphonsus EBA orchestrated the dehumanization of our people. He reduced APC supporters to beggars. Some of us fled from the State. We know Ayade could not hurt a fly, can we say that of Mr Eba?
It is time for politics no doubt but memories lingers. Alphonsus was in power but today he is out of power. Let the politics he played be given to him as played. Karma is real.
