A new socio-political group, the Coalition of Cross River State Youths, is set to be formally inaugurated on Monday in Calabar, with organisers describing the platform as a move to strengthen youth participation in governance and development across the state NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
The inauguration ceremony, scheduled to hold at the University of Calabar Cross River State Community Multipurpose Hall, is expected to attract youth leaders, community stakeholders, and partners from the 18 local government areas of the state.
According to the organisers, the coalition, known as COCRISY, was created to provide a unified platform for young people to contribute meaningfully to public discourse and development initiatives in Cross River State.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Director-General of the coalition, Hon. Etem Okimba, described the inauguration as the beginning of a coordinated movement aimed at amplifying the voices of youths across the state.
“This is not just a ceremony, it is the first step in building a coalition that puts Cross River youth at the center of development and decision-making,” he said.
The organisers disclosed that the event would also feature a world press conference after the inauguration.
