Mr Wilfred Usani a legal practitioner has disclosed what his legislative agenda aims at achieving eventually should he succeed to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023 NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

This disclosure was made on Thursday during the meeting of his One Central Campaign Team with the 6 PDP chapter chairmen from senatorial district where he introduced his legislative agenda to them.

At the event which held in Calabar the state capital metropolis, Usani Esq, a former Special Adviser on Tourism Development to former Governor of Cross River state, Liyel Imoke, observed that his agenda to represent Cross River Central Senatorial District at the anticipated 10th National Assembly, NASS aims propagating a new vision of development for the Senatorial District, the state and the country at large.

The soft-spoken legal practitioner noted that ‘Our purpose for seeking to represent the people of Central Senatorial District is to propagate a new vision for the social, political and economic development of the people…

‘Despite the existence of huge natural resources in solid minerals, agriculture, trade and tourism, our people are dirt poor and largely still primitive and live by subsistence agriculture. This vision places the security and welfare of the people at the centre of our legislative agenda’.

The senate hopeful went on to articulate what he referred to as the three principal elements of the agenda which are as follows: ‘political and social transformation to assure harmony among the various peoples; sustainable wealth creation and employment –to improve the livelihoods of the people; and security of lived and property’, he explained.

On his part, the Director General of the One Central, Mr Gerald Odok, while addressing the Chapter Chair of PDP, coordinators of the campaign, and supporters said that, ‘This event is in recognition of our chapter chairmen and the role they have played. This is the second phase of our consultation… I know that most of you have not seen my face for the past 20 years. But we have been working underground…

Continuing, ‘there is need going into 2023 to birth a new dawn. It is so important to depart from the path that has brought us thus backward. That is why we came up with One Central Campaign to do things differently. One Central Campaign is not just for now, but will be a continuum birthing councillors, House of Assembly members, senators, house of representatives etc but with sole concentration in Central Senatorial District’, he concluded.
