Federal Commissioner with the NDDC, Orok Duke, has rallied support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections during an APC presidential affirmation gathering held in Ward 9 of Calabar South Local Government Area NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
The political gathering, which drew party faithful and supporters from across the ward, featured a voice vote endorsement in support of President Tinubu’s second-term bid under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Addressing the gathering, Duke said the continuation of Tinubu’s administration would create more opportunities for Cross River state through increased federal presence, developmental projects, empowerment programmes, and strategic appointments.
According to him, the sustained leadership of the President would further strengthen the working relationship between the Federal Government and the administration of Governor Otu, whom he described as “our Sweet Prince.”
He maintained that greater federal support would enable the state government to attract more dividends of democracy to residents across the state.
The Federal Commissioner also commended the unity and organisation displayed by APC members in Ward 9, describing the ward as a strong pillar within the party structure in Calabar South.
Duke specifically praised the leadership of the Ward Chairman, Mr. Bassey Okpo-Ene, for sustaining cohesion and mobilising grassroots support for the APC.
He said the population strength and loyalty of party members in the ward would contribute significantly to future electoral victories for APC candidates in the state.
The event also witnessed recognition of party faithful and support groups by the Commissioner, a development that drew cheers from attendees.
Responding on behalf of the ward, Okpo-Ene thanked Duke for what he described as his consistent support and people-oriented leadership style.
He expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s relationship with grassroots members and prayed for greater strength and wisdom for him in service to the party and the people.
The gathering later turned celebratory as party supporters engaged in songs, dancing, and chants in support of Tinubu, Otu, and the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
