2027: COCRISY inaugurates chapter executives, ward coordinators in Obudu, Ogoja, Yala

The Coalition of Cross River State Youth (COCRISY), led by its Director General, Etem Okimba, has inaugurated chapter executives and ward coordinators in Obudu, Ogoja and Yala Local Government Areas as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

The Chief Press Secretary to the DG, David Adrian, disclosed this in a series of statements exclusively made available to NEGROIDHAVEN.

Adrian said the visits reflected COCRISY’s commitment to deepening youth participation in the political process and creating a coordinated platform for young Cross Riverians to contribute to governance and community development.

In Obudu, the inauguration of the chapter executives and ward coordinators was described as a reinforcement of the need to take youth leadership to the grassroots and ensure young people across the wards are organised and actively involved in developmental conversations.

In Ogoja, Okimba delivered a speech marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary. He encouraged youths to participate in the democratic process fought for by the nation’s founding fathers and advised them to live in unity and resist being used as thugs during and after elections.

The DG charged the newly inaugurated executives and ward coordinators to demonstrate commitment, responsibility and effective grassroots engagement, stressing the importance of unity, inclusiveness and purposeful youth leadership.

The Ogoja Chapter Coordinator, Ayenku Jimmy, expressed appreciation to the COCRISY leadership for the confidence reposed in the team and pledged to advance the coalition’s objectives across the local government area.

In Yala, the inauguration further strengthened COCRISY’s grassroots presence. The Yala LGA Coordinator, in his acceptance remarks, pledged the commitment of the new executives and ward coordinators to work diligently towards the coalition’s goals while ensuring effective coordination across the wards.

Okimba charged the Yala team to uphold discipline, unity, responsibility and dedication in their roles.

Adrian stated that with the inaugurations in the three local government areas, COCRISY continues to expand its network of youth leaders committed to constructive political participation and service.
