Cross River State Democracy Club and Youth Parliament, in seeking to achieve its set objectives of deepening democracy and promoting democratic culture and values among youths in Cross River State, is poised to establish a network of clubs in the 18 Local Government Areas of the state. These clubs will be formed from ward levels to the Local Government level.
Each Local Government will have a coordinator leading a team to oversee the activities of the club at the Local Government level. The coordinators will be drawn from among youths in the state aged between 18 and 35 years. The youth must be citizens of the Local Government Area and must also be resident in the Local Government.
In line with this, we call on all youths who have a passion for the growth of democracy in Cross River State and believe they have the requisite leadership capacity to deliver on this level of responsibility to apply for the position of Local Government Area Coordinator of their respective Local Government Areas.
To do this, interested youths are expected to submit a 5 page manifesto telling us about themselves, about their thoughts on growing democracy in Cross River State and their vision for the democracy club in their Local Government Area. A team of consultants will evaluate the manifestoes and selected candidates will have the chance to be elected as leaders of teams at the local government level.
