Negroid Haven Enterprises, the publisher of Negroid Haven Blog (NHB), is pleased to inform you that her information portal, namely, negroidhaven.com is one year old today, 3 December 2015.
With well over 1500 published articles and a teeming fan base we are glad to announce to you that Negroid Haven Blog(NHB) has evolved into an influential virtual information portal spanning the gamut of Cross River cyberspace.
It was the English, Francis Bacon who opined that 'knowledge is power'. While Professor Walter Rodney, that legendary Caribbean scholar who authored the seminal piece, How Europe Underdeveloped Africa, contended that power is the ultimate determinant in any human society. These remote and salient observations as well as an incorrigibly passionate disposition to empower the Black race (reminiscent in the concept, 'negroid') compelled us to put to birth Negroid Haven.
Lexically, a 'haven' refers to a place where you are protected from danger, trouble, etc. It's a refuge. Literarily then, Negroid Haven is and aspires to be an 'infrastructure of refuge' for specifically the Black race and humanity at large. Accordingly, it's instrument of constituting itself into a safe haven is truth. And it is in the process of articulating truth that it secures the haven-ness it anticipates to be. Thus, our motto is '…truth in view of Africa's liberty!'.
No doubt, we have had challenges, especially in articulating truth. We have experienced varied oppositions from the establishment. It was in the course of our work, we came to discover, quite disappointingly, that truth is one thing humans hanker for but oppose more: humans love the status quo even when it hurts meddling with it. Despite this, we will not be deterred. We are ever poised to express the truth until this hitherto dark continent is glaringly lightened.
We are aware that we have not yet hit our mark of excellence in communicating information in the areas of Entertainment, Sports, News reportage and Politics. Albeit, you will agree with me that, the first step in getting there is acknowledging our shortcomings. We promise our numerous fans that we are getting there already. This is a sacred trust; We won't toil with it.
Let me use this opportunity to acknowledge our teeming fans, contributing authors, associate editors, editor and editor-in-chief as well as critics: without you, there would be no Negroid Haven. We appreciate and hold you in very high esteem!
We wish to assure you that we will move from grace to grace, strength to strength, and glory to glory. And with your support we are getting there already.
Let me end this piece by chanting the cliché: Negroid Haven… articulating 'truth is view of Africa's liberty!'.
