Sequel to the Thursday 7 January 2016 confirmation of Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Cross River APC stalwart and foremost critic of the state governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, Barr. Okoi Obono-Obla has taken to his social media account to express his appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari and to urge Cross Riverians to support the present federal government.

'Many thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari for his confirmation of the appointment and subsequent swearing in of Cross River State Born, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita on Wednesday the 7th January 2016 as the substantive Head of Civil Service of the Federation of Nigeria.
It is a thing of joy that President Buhari has deemed it fit to appoint Mrs Oyo-Ita, a first class graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos. She finished her West African School Certificate in the famous elitist Queen's College, Yaba, Lagos with a Distinction.
The appointment of Mrs Oyo-Ita and others has proven again and again that President Buhari is a stickler for merit, competence and professionalism and indeed putting square pegs in square holes! So far, President Buhari has appointed three illustrious sons and daughter into eminent positions including the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas Ekwe and the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs,Pastor Usani Uguru Usani!
I therefore urge all the people of Cross River State to give the government of President Buhari their unflinching support and loyalty!'
