Many a time Christians have failed to reflect on the true virtues of Jesus Christ which is love. We have chosen to follow the pathway that leads to destruction and condemnation. As humans, we must imbibe and follow the teaching of Jesus Christ which is love.

As we step into the month of March which promises to be fruitful, I urge all Cross Riverians to chose a pathway which is geared towards liberating Cross River State and emancipating our people from stagnation.

As a people, we must understand that it is only when we love our brothers that we can live in peace. We must take into cognizance that fighting one another will lead us no where.

In the month of March, we must learn to judge and criticise our own selves before trying to criticise others.

We must also have it at the back of our mind that no one can make us happy only ourselves can. And so, we must brave up and face the challenges of life having it at the back of our minds that we will succeed no matter the hurdles.

Today, many a time we have being wronged by our friends and associates in one way or the other. We have been cheated and neglected but the truth is we must learn to love. It is only when we give out love that we can make speedy and rapid progress.

Life is not always about it must be me all the time. Most times in life, things don't go our way because there is a reason for everything.

In life, we must try to love one another. As a growing people, it is only natural that we understand that life is not centred on hate, bitterness and violence.  If you try and you do not succeed keep trying. Do not go into slandering others or scheming to bring down your fellow man because of the quest for power.

In our dealings in life, we must strive to put smiles on the faces of others. In the month of March we must try to make life worth living for the people around us. It is only when we add value to mankind that we find true peace. Life is all about affecting others positively.

In the new month, it is my prayer that we would shun hate, acrimony, malice, jealousy, envy, libel, slander and bitterness.

Hating one another only makes us looks cranky, weak, old and very unhappy. Most, times we do not accomplish our desired goals in life because of the bitterness in our hearts. We do not have self love. The energy channelled in trying to destroy one another, should be used in making our state and nation great again.

The peace loving people of Cross River State need our God given intelligence for the greater good of the State. Our people need us to make meaningful and positive contributions and not waging war and hate campaign against one another.

If Cross River State must move from where we are to the next level of our developmental drive, we must love one another. It is only by loving that we can consolidate and bring speedy growth in our State. It is only when we love one another that we can live a life of our dream. We must also understand that our destiny is tied towards Cross River's destiny and it is our responsibility to work towards ameliorating the sufferings of the common man, the lowly heard, the downtrodden and the oppressed in Cross River State.

In the month of March, I give you all a few words from the legendary Martin Luther King Jr., on love "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: Only love can do that".

We must practice love in the new month if we must move forward as a State.

Happy New Month!
