Recently, the state of the nation has grossly been affected negatively. Such evils as political imbalance, religious intolerant, social unrest as well as insurgency have given our leaders in the corridors of power, sleepless nights as they are working tirelessly to find out ways to curb these issues.

As if these problems are not troubling enough; the present challenge of power outage and fuel scarcity has turned out as other serious issues plaguing our Nation and hereby resulting into a ripple effects that have thus crippled other sectors of our economy to include the Transportation and Businesses.
However, the Government in other to address this issues have met minds together and have come out to propose a payment of subsidy as a way of ameliorating the fuel scarcity of petroleum product as well as the inflation on such .

According to our source, the Federal Government yesterday commence the neglected payment of subsidy as she  subsidised the commodity by a N5.80k of the PMS consumed per litre. This means that she (FG) pays N5.84 per litre of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to non – NNPC filling station.

However, The Punch online corroborated the information arguing in the same vein that  government have promised to end petrol scarcity in a few days.

On the question as to when exactly, there seems to be no concrete answer.

In matters about the retained pump price of petrol, the acting Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Price Regulatory Agency, Mrs. Sotonye Iyoyo,  asserted that “The agency is retaining the retail prices of N86.00 for the NNPC, and N86.50 for the other marketing companies".

She however urged all retail outlets of the " black gold" to maintain the recommended standard sale price as any efforts to do contrary will not be taken likely and that there will be a close monitoring by the PPRA of all marketing outlets.
