Deputy Governor Prof Ivara Esu Boost Medical Outreach Programme in Ikom

The Cross River State Deputy Governor, Prof Ivara Esu yesterday paid a surprise visit to the free medical outreach organized by Mediatrix Development Foundation in partnership with Faith Care International and the health sector in Cross River State to deliver free quality specialised health services to the people of Ikom LGA. The Deputy Governor visited on the last day at Comprehensive Primary Health Center, Ikom. The State Commissioner of Health, Dr Inyang Asibong in company of the Director General, State Primary Healthcare Agency, Dr Betta Edu and the Chief host of the outreach representing the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Rosemary Eneji took the Deputy Governor around the premises and different units of the health center.

Dr Asibong said services rendered include surgeries both major and minor, medical consultation, laboratory investigation for most diseases, pharmaceutical services, free medications, maternity services, health education and promotions with counselling and prayers.

Also speaking, the DG, CRSPHCDA, Dr Betta Edu told the Deputy Governor that the exercise have witnessed large turn out of people in Ikom and even neighbouring LGAs in the state. She said the program was born out of compassion of the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Dr Linda Ayade. And her passion to have quality and accessible healthcare delivery in the state. She noted that the team will be moving to Ugep where they plan to still render same services for the people of Ugep for 5 days.

Similarly she informed the Deputy Governor that same program is ongoing in Calabar for the people of Calabar Municipal and Calabar South at Primary Health Center, Ikot Effanga Mkpa organized by Aggiewinsor Organization , USA.

Earlier speaking, the Deputy Governor, Prof Ivara Esu thanked the wife of the Governor, Dr Linda Ayade for her free medical outreach which through her foundation many people's lives have been touched. He appealed to the beneficiaries to remain steadfast and support the present administration of Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade as more people oriented health programs will be unveiled by the Government in due time. He acknowledged the support of Faith Care International which provided over 35 medical doctors for the project. He assured the people that God Almighty will never let them down as they seek human remedy for their ailments.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by Chairman Ikom LGA, Hon Ayiba, Member Representing Ikom II in the State House of Assembly, Hon Fred Osim, SSG, Barr (Mrs) Tina Agbor and some members of the State Exco.
