UK —In what has been described as a historic decision, a majority of Brits (British citizens) have voted in favour of the United Kingdom (UK) officially ceasing to become a member of the 28 members European Union (EU).
The result of a referendum that was conducted yesterday 23 June was announced this morning on the BBC. Official results has it that 52% of the voters were in support of leaving the EU, whereas 48% were in support of staying. The decision is presently been greeted with mixed reactions.
It's anticipated that development is set to hit rural areas in the UK. While other sentiments has it that the UK is set to be the strongest economy in Europe. However, it should be emphasised that the decision to leave the EU was largely inspired by an anti immigration policy in the UK.
