In reaction to a recent social media thread generated by Cross River leading social commentator, Ifere Paul, titled: 'EFCC to take over Frank Ayade's House, Garment Factory, and Mega Hilton Hotel', in which the former, that is, Paul, observed that one of Governor Ben Ayade's sibling, Dr Frank Ayade, notoriously labelled co-Governor has deserted the state to China with 700 Million Naira of public funds to avoid arrest by Nigeria's anti graft Agency the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Venatius Ikem, the embattled Obudu-born former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Commissioner has mocked the entire members of the First Family in the state.

In Vena's words, 'Really? I thought immunity covered all members of the family? We need to pray for the First family so that they will keep spending their "family wealth" to develop Cross River State'. By the phrase, 'family wealth' the former public officer refers to the level of nepotism and cronyism that the Ben Ayade led state government is infamous for.

Again, when asked by one social media user, Dodex Omini still in that same thread on why he seems to be quiet politically speaking —'Oga Barrister u dey so???? Not seen your posts in a while, I hope you're not giving in on the recent challenges o.??? Stay afloat make una Na shake CRS small'. Vena replied thus: 'lol. I think we hv younger people willing and able enough to keep the struggle going unless it becomes absolutely necessary. I don't feel challenged at all. Hunters get hunted too as you can see'.

Below is the full thread by Paul that Vena was reacting to:

EFCC TO TAKE OVER FRANK AYADE HOUSE, GARMENT FACTORY, & MEGA HILTON.

By Ifere Paul

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission stormed the residence of Frank Ayade who is notably called the co-governor moment after he escaped to China deceiving Cross Riverians that he was on investment mission.

Although security details at the residence refused the operatives to search the place. They however have decided to confiscate the property. Policemen posted at the Mega Hilton Hotel also prevented the EFCC from searching the hotel.

The EFCC has however obtained all the accounts operated by Frank Ayade, and which were used to launder money belonging to Cross River State. Speaking with a source close to the investigation, Ifere was told that the EFCC will any moment from now declare Frank Ayade wanted if he fails to give himself up for interrogation.

Remember that Ifere petitioned the government of Cross River State over the misappropriation of the bailout fund it got from the Federal Government. The petition which was adopted on the 18th of July, 2016 has caused the State Government to declare himl wanted.

However, Ifere can authoritatively say that Governor Ben Ayade was seen in Aso Rock on the 27th of July seeking for the intervention of the President on the matter. The presidency has already been informed of the illegality through which indigenes of the State are declared wanted.

***Does the reader think anti graft agencies should clamp down on the Ayade's in CRS?

  1. The judgement that is coming on you is loading and will hit you like a hurricane. Except you repent from trying to run down a government that is doing its best to take this state back to its feet. It is people like you that have wickedly and selfishly continued to fight progress of Nigeria thus put us in the state we are today. Since you have decided to make a career from wickedness. May God who sits in heaven answer you well. You had better stopped spending lies!!

    • @David Emmanuel…List one thing…just one thing…that this government has done that you think is aimed "…to take this state back to its feet." Seriously, because that is what I've been waiting to see because I've been begging for reasons for me to believe in this govt and I'm yet to get one. The more I try to find a reason, good or bad, the more I meet empty rocks and hardened waters! Put me thru sir!!!

  2. This government has be able to pay salaries consistently and promptly. Back to Frank issue I am a type that don't like jumping into matters I can't defend so as the writer has written let's wait for EFCC to declear him wanted or to see if he will come back to the state or not
