'I am not an Apostolic member but I adored this very rare man of God. I never had the opportunity to meet him while he lived but am happy I attended his funeral service at the U.J. Esuene stadium.

He was humble and dedicated to his calling. May God who called him to His service be gracious to grant him eternal rest in paradise. Amen'.

Donatus Etim
Mayor
Calabar Municipality

The above statements by the Mayor of Calabar Municipality, Mr Donatus Etim, was made via his social media account recently and was a eulogy in respect of late Pastor E. E. Okon, the legendary first indigenous national president of The Apostolic Church, Nigeria.

The Mayor refers to Pst Okon as being 'rare, humble and dedicated'. These tripod qualities ascribable to late Pst Okon seem to be profoundly missing amongst other religious leaders who are a grim contrast of arrogance and less diligence to their calling.

May God bless the memory of the venerable Pst. E. E. Okon.
