WHAT IS THE PRICE TAG OF YOUR RURAL COMMUNITY HEALTH?
(AN OPEN LETTER TO DR BETTA EDU, DG CROSS RIVER STATE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE DEVELOPEMENT AGENCY)
—BY PRINCE THOMAS MBEH IFERE

Compliments of the Season Honourable Director General.

I am sorry to make this letter open.
In the life we live today, it is more important to pay attention to your plans and actions than to listen to the negative things people say about your project.
The Etara/Ekuri Eyeyeng project is one  that has come to stay, must be promoted and supported.

People have called me several names for letting the government and public know how my communities have remain abandoned, if this makes me a critic and attack dog, I accept.

Thinking sentimentally is an imposition of limitations on our chances of an enduring success. It is obvious that we can't decide what happens to us, but we can surely decide how we handle what happens.

Every success in this world is born out of the marriage between preparation and opportunity. Many people failed in life because they either took off in a hurry and made too many mistakes that cost them their opportunities, or they waited too long to begin until they lost their opportunities. Ma, you shall not be a failure to our generation IJN.

The dreams of the Etara/Ekuri Eyeyeng people have been aborted, their hopes dashed and their destinies destroyed by those whom we massively voted for, to represent us in the State Assembly, House of Representatives & Senate since the return of democracy. Our political leaders, especially from Etung & Ikom have failed us. Now is a litmus test for the present administration of Sen. Ben Ayade as Governor of our state to help us out.

Please recall that you & I had discussed extensively earlier this year on the need for you to carry along the people of these communities in your rural health care programmes, you did promise you would help us out. Hitherto, nothing has been done. My people are dieing as a result of lack of health facilities amongst other problems facing them.
We are aware of how you took your Rural health care across the state seriously and covered several communities. Hence the need for this write up to enable us know the price tag that is associated to enable Etara/Ekuri Eyeyeng communities benefit from such.

Please, use your good office and help my poor communities. Thank you.
