The police have arrested the traditional ruler of the Magboro community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State for allegedly shooting to death a resident in the area.
According to our source, the monarch, identified as Baale Sanni Shofolarin, was said to have killed an innocent man residing in his area in a bid to quell a fight between two individuals who got into a fight after attending a party in the neighborhood. The fight was said to have disrupted the peace in the community.
NHB garnered that, it was the intensity of the fight that led the fighters to be summoned to the palace. The Baale having listened to the parties attempted to mediate between them, which however proved abortive. And knowing that the fighters turned deaf ears to his peaceful counsel and mediation he got infuriated.
This incidence was what lead him to pick up his gun and fire a shot at the crowd which had now gathered outside his palace. In an attempt to scare away the now increasing crowd with the gun shot, he unfortunately knocked down his victim who was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

The Baale had since being arrested by police, who transferred the case to the Homicide section, of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, in Eleweran of Abeokuta as instructed by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu.
