In complementing Cross River as a medical tourism city, His Excellency, Prof. (Senator) Benedict Ayade has demonstrated another political will during the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of ADMC Oncology Centre in Calabar through :
-Approval for expansion of land for the construction of ADMC Oncology centre.
– Subsidising the cost of obtaining certificate of occupancy (C of O) to the expanded land.
-Targeting high value Cancer care through the State Health Insurance scheme (Ayade Care) where the rich will pay for the poor.
The occasion of the foundation laying ceremony took place on Saturday 7 December at Asi Ukpo Diagnostic & Medical Centre.
Dignitaries present during the event were Former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar with wife, Justice Amina Abdusalami; Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Senator (Prof) Benedict Ayade with wife, Dr (Mrs) Linda Ayade; CRS Deputy Gov, His Excellency, Prof Ivara Ejemot Esu; former Governor of CRS, Mr Donald Duke with wife, Mrs Onari Duke; CRS Commissioner For Health, Dr (Mrs) Inyang Asibong, Members of the State Executive Council, lawmakers etc.
