They have taken the colour from our green white green…God almighty will send a man who will deliver this nation…
When God turns away our captivity, our independence will not be on paper

Pst. J. I. Okoro
General Overseer
Bible Christian Crusaders Mission (BCCM)
1 October 2016

As has already been highlighted the above set of propositions are attributed to the General overseer of BCCM, a Calabar-based pentecostal Christian assembly. He made this statement in the just concluded 2016 edition of Prayer Fest held at 55 Webber Street, Calabar, Nigeria.

While addressing the congregants in the wee hours of the 1st of this month about 1AM precisely, the charismatic Christian leader made the above set of statements in respect of 1st of October Independence Day commemoration of the nation. Pst. Okoro frowned against the degree of backwardness the Nigerian nation had recorded after 56 years of political independence from British colonial rule. He blamed the dearth of development at all front in Nigeria on the political leadership of Africa's alleged giant.

Pst. Okoro said he is poised to speak out against the failure of political leadership if no one else is talking. Accordingly, he spoke particularly against the state political administration of Cross River State as led by Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade. 'With the type of money coming to Cross River State, why should there be suffering', Pst. Okoro observed.
Speaking why he should not criticise against the failure of the government of Cross River State, he asked 'Who says he (Ayade) is a demi god?'.

Concerning University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) he declared: 'Teaching hospital is killing hospital'. He made reference to the fact that UCTH outside public power supply, hadn't an alternative power supply,a trend that undermined the quality of service of the federal health institution.

Prayer Fest 2016, the 7 days powered-packed prayer-based programme comes to an end today. According to Pst Okoro the programme, which replaced the annual popular programme, Festival of Fire, was prompted by the need to address three features plaguing individual humans and society namely, 'A closed heaven, bad marriage and a buried destiny'.
