I welcome you all to the CJN Judiciary Games billed for the 24th of August through the 3rd of September, 2017. We have outlined a number of games that are supposed to be hosted and contingents from across the Federation, that would be here to participate in more than 10 games which includes indoor games.
The indoor games which includes;
Badminton, Ayo, Chess, Scrabble, Table Tennis and Football for the outdoor games a host of others to be hosted here in the State capital city of Calabar.
As a government, His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ayade Benedict okayed the hosting of this event, regardless of the considerable lean financial resources of the State.
Hence, we have decided also as a matter of patriotism and mark of respect for our own son who happens to be the Chief Justice of the Federation, His Lordship Justice Walter Onneghen who happens to be an indigene of Cross River State.
His Excellency Professor Ben. Ayade in his wisdom has also directed that this game be hosted in Cross River State and that is why we are here.
Let me also say that as a government amidst the plurality of issues and obvious challenges within the State, we have also decided to support the hosting of this game.
On-behalf of the Government of Cross River State, let me cease this opportunity to welcome all our participating athletes from across the 36 State of the Federation to  Africa's warmest hospitality city and to let you understand that everything logistics-wise has been put in place to ensure your safety and pray that you have the best of time while in Cross River State.
