Rotary Club of Calabar, honours Dr. Betta Edu with Professional Excellent Humanitarian Service award

The Rotary Club of Calabar and members of the Paul Harris Family, an international service organization of business, professional and community leaders across the globe has yesterday Saturday 5th of August, 2017 awarded Dr. Betta Edu, Director General of the Cross River State Primary Health care Development Agency CRSPHCDA, for her excellence in promoting and enhancing health care services in Cross River State. The award came during the club's installation and induction of her 38th President, Members and Board of Directors respectively.
Presenting the award, the 38th President and a Paul Harris Fellow Rotr. Dr. Bob Mgbeje said Dr. Edu's constant zeal and dexterity in helping the poor and needy, as well as her activeness in health sector left the club with little or no option but to acknowledge her good works to humanity. The Rotary President further added that the Director General's programmes of saving malnourished children from the cold hands of death, crossing rivers with canoes, climbing mountains just to get to hard to reach areas to save souls health wise is accolade worthy, hence the need for the award. 
"In Rotary we don't just throw our award to anyone. Our awards are not paid for. Very few people get our award. Dr Betta has worked too hard. I hope even her boss realises this. If every public servant can work this hard Government would be more impactful. I completely agree that younger people be given position of leadership,  young people with passion. The have the strength and innovative ideas which we the older ones may not have. Honestly I wont be able to move up and down working as she does", Rotr. Dr. Bob Mgbeje.
Accepting the award at the Pearl Ball Hall, Transcorp Hotel in Calabar, Dr. Betta Edu said she is overwhelm by the honour done her by Rotary International and used the  opportunity on behalf of the state governor, Sen. Ben Ayade to congratulated the 38th president of rotary club of Calabar, Dr. Bob Mgbeje, and other inductees. She said this has come to further motivate her to surpass set goals and targets in the health sector. She also pledges her resolve to becoming a member of the rotary club as their goals are health oriented and tilted toward helping humanity, a feat she said is one of her passion.
She was also the winner of the auctioning ceremony of the installation, and carted away a two table gas cooker burner. Only two other awardee's were Rotarian Peter Kayode Bello and PDG Akabom Enebong MD/CEO of one Gas company
