When I wrote this a year ago, many persons had abused the living day out of me for what they believe was the right thing to do. But believe me, the government of Sen. Ben Ayade has taken a geometrical nosedive for the worst in every ramifications.
Many persons have attacked me verbally with litanies of abuses sent to my inbox. Some even label me enemy of the state. I sometimes wonder at the stark display of folly between myself and the so-called protagonists of the state and I have come to term with the fact that the said enemy of this state is non other but them. How could you sell your consciences for peanuts and criminally sell at a give a way price, the future of your children?
I stand vindicated that the article I wrote a year ago has played out nicely and neatly.
Below is the excerpts :
I have struggled to come to terms with Ayade's style of governance and I have continued to fear for the worst. His style of governance is inclusive as against the signature of democratic principles.  His frivolous foreign escapades is a poster to deceive Cross Riverians.
One wonders what happened to the foreign partners he was waving at for those that thronged the International Conference Centre on his swearing in. He said that they were already in Cross River State to swing into action the various programmes to be executed by the government.
Ayade visiting the state house now with various bills which he wants to be accented to is like placing the cart before the horse. He is now retracting and seeking legislative approval to those things he attempted on his own. This is dictatorial and not accepted in democracy.
His poster of partnering with foreign multinational companies is now a mirage and a very wasteful venture not even minding the tax payers' money.
1. Evidently,  after being sworn in,  we did have it in the media, both local and national that he has signed a contract with a German firm in far away Germany towards the actualisation of some of his signature projects. What happened to that contract?
2. Ayade has not been able to tell Cross Riverians the true financial status of the state.  Not until recently in his first media parley, he claimed he is running the state from his pocket.  Could we term this to be true considering the circumstances that brought him to office where he borrowed money from one of the Niger Delta militant to pay his political emperor,  Liyel Imoke the agreed one billion that sidelined other contestants.
Facts emerging from this ugly scenario has it that even his Mega Hilton Hotel is under pledge.
If his family had so much, I wondered why it took so long for them to raise the one billion Imoke's settlement funds.
Let the truth be told for once,  the recent media parley was revealing…
Yet again, the same Governor came back few weeks ago in his usual media antics and announced to Cross Riverians about over 71 companies struggling and clamouring for the execution of the superhighway and deep seaport. Ubok Abasi!  Did I hear 71? What's all these mbok? As if that was not enough, we are hearing about another MOU, solid minerals exploration with Chinese. I just fear for the worst.
No wonder Hon. Patrick describes situations such as this as caused by,  "… because of the direction directionessless…". Whoever and whatever gave him the wisdom to articulate the above though ungrammatical construct was hinged on what Cross River is suffering and passing through now.
If the current campaign of Cross River Decide Again by the aides of the Governor is anything to go by in ethics and sincerity of purpose, I stand corrected that Cross River will truly decide.
