Reliable information made available to our correspondent suggests that Comr Imeh Eyakene, the erstwhile Director of Socials of the Post Graduate Students Government of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Calabar is vying for the prestigious Office of President of the union in the forthcoming elections billed for Tuesday 31st October.
It will be recalled that on Monday 17th October an electoral committee of PGSG UNICAL was constituted being chaired by one Comr Gregory Mbe which had the mandate to conduct bye elections into offices of President, Financial Secretary and Treasurer http://www.negroidhaven.org/2017/10/unical-senate-sacks-pgsg-president.html?m=1 .
Recall also that the Comr Williams-led PGSG EXCO was suspended by the Nwuyi Okori Sam-Uket-presided Senate on the 31st of August over an alleged N1.7 million scandal which a 3-man PGSG Senate Adhoc committee was constituted for http://www.negroidhaven.org/2
It's been garnered that there are intrigues to subterfuge Comr Eyakene who resigned his directorship to contest for the presidency. Sources have it that a set of petitions have been filed to frustrate his presidential bids. NegroidHaven is yet to confirm this insinuation from the electoral committee of PGSG UNICAL as at press time.
However, in an interaction with our correspondent, Comr Eyakene is confident he will enjoy the unprecedented support of majority of PGSG in the Tuesday elections. There are three presidential aspirants.
