The lie that "our votes don't count" is beginning to rear its ugly head again.
Nigerians, please reject this lie and turn out in large numbers to vote come 2019.
Just think:
If our votes don't count, why do politicians attempt to and actually pay voters for their votes?
If our votes don't count, why do politicians hire thugs to snatch ballot boxes? The content of the ballot boxes should not serve any threat if votes don't count, right?
If our votes don't count, why would political parties get involved in multiple thumb-printings? What are the thumb-prints used for?
If our votes don't count, why do murderous politicians assassinate any politician who's beginning to appear popular with the electorate?
If our votes don't count, why do the politicians tell us the votes don't count, then turn around to manufacture votes for voters who don't show up to vote?
If our votes don't count, why do conniving INEC officials refuse to count the votes publicly in some centres?
If our votes don't count, why would politicians even need conniving INEC officials in the first place?
If our votes don't count, why do some politicians sponsor the killings of voting-age adults that could cause their defeat by the ballots?
If our votes don't count, why are corrupt politicians oppressing voter education with all the resources at their disposal?
We can add more to the thoughts above.
Fellow Nigerian electorate, our votes count, the politicians know this and a large voter turnout scares them to death.
They try to pay some of us for votes, they intimidate some of us to either stay neutral or vote against our consciences, yes, they even assassinate some of us.
Whatever their tactics, we should know that our votes count, this knowledge is one step to victory for the people of our great nation Nigeria.
Let's remember that if we don't vote, the politicians and their cronies will vote for us, manufacturing results based on our votes, votes that we never gave voluntarily. Let's vote and insist that the votes be counted in a transparent manner. We can!
"Your votes don't count" is one of the biggest lies told by dishonest politicians to keep us from exercising our electoral powers.
2019 is still judgment day. One Nigerian tell the other: Our Votes Count!
Our Mumu Don Do.
