Mr Cejiyu 'Ceejay' Ojong, who aspires to represent Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency in Cross River State at the 9th National Assembly has disclosed how he intends to address the challenge of social violence posed by designated cult groups NegroidHaven has learnt. According to him, his solution is quite radical and a thinking out of the box. He's proposing official registration of these organisations with government, issuing of licenses, and maintenance of public register.
According to him, if this is done, this will allow for responsibility and the ability to track crime perpetuated by members. Ojong said this while addressing a link of our publication where one Klansmen Konfraternity (KK) member denounced the group as he renounced membership officially last week.

His words, 'My solution to the cultism problem in our country is rather radical and outside mainstream thinking. The solution in my view lies in allowing all the organizations of whatever nomenclature to register officially as social clubs with government, academic institutions and localities within which they operate, respectively. Licenses to operate should be issued and made renewable annually for a fee. A list of members should be maintained at their registered offices to be made available on demand as public information.
'A full list of the EXCO members should be submitted annually to the respective authorities as part of the requirements for renewing their registration annually. The EXCO is made to sign and submit a sacred undertaking to provide on demand by the authorities any of its member(s) involved in any anti-social and criminal actions  or activities especially in the name of the group(s), failure of which the EXCO members will bear all the consequences arising thereof.
'So, whenever there is any fracas, violence, threat to peace or even killings involving these registered groups then the EXCO are arrested and requested to produce the perpetrators to face prosecution or face the prosecution themselves in the stead of the perpetrators. This way no one will give or take orders for hits that will put them in prison. Over time the violence side of things will die out and there could arise competition among these groups as to who can be more socially responsible and useful to society. They can even begin to compete in exposing any perpetrators of such anti-social vices within individual local communities and academic institutions.
'Point is not registering the groups would make them operate incognito without being able hold the members accountable for anti-social behaviour and criminal actions. I have a lot of details on this whole thing across the country and even outside. It will be one of the first problem I shall seek to solve for the country through legislation if and when I get  elected into NASS in 2019. Our youths deserve guidance on higher ideals, opportunities to fulfil their full potentials and a better future. Otherwise our country is doomed if things are left they way they are now.'

Ojong must be an egg-head, his submission is just out of this world. Already, some of these groups are registered with government as social clubs thereby bringing their activities under public scrutiny unlike the so-called secret gang groups.
Will Ojong be voted into NASS to do just this proposal!?
