Mr. Eyo Ekpo, a Cross River state governorship aspirant has promised spare part dealers in the state a tax regime that will be favorable to them and their businesses.
Ekpo added that when he becomes Governor, he will put to rest the issues of multiple taxation and the use of touts to harass taxpaying citizens as has become the case under this current regime.
Ekpo who is aiming to occupy the Government House through the Social Democratic Party (SDP) questioned the unorganized manner the current administration is going with its tax drive and wondered where the monies are going to.
The former-attorney general of the state made this known while speaking with artisans in Calabar the Cross River state held that “Although the current government has deployed inhumane ways to enforce a tax regime that has remained mostly uncoordinated and inhumane, the state internally generated revenue does not reflect where the monies go to.”
Ekpo said the contribution and place of  businesses like theirs to  the growth of a state economy can never be understated, which is while his government will always engage with them to seek for ways on how the state can prosper.
Ekpo insisted that he will give maximum priority to the provision of an environment where private enterprise can thrive.
Some of the spare part dealers who responded, thanked the Governorship hopeful for coming and promise to work with him to ensure the growth of the state.
