In reaction to the news that Chief Gershom Bassey, the incumbent Senator representing Cross River South and an aspirant for the same office was beaten by Mr Ekpo Okon another aspirant and former PDP state chairman, the latter has faulted the whole report saying it was an incident of standing truth on the face NegroidHaven can say.
Okon who disclosed this via his social media account, Thursday, added that Bassey snatched four of the eight bundles of ballot papers and diverted away.

His exact words, 'Let people learn not to stand truth on the face. These were only 4 of the expected 8 bundles of ballot papers found in the vehicle of Sen Gershom Bassey. The remaining ones and the original result sheets were diverted by Azubike Femi Nwuke, a member of the Electoral panel to Gershom's house. This is what led to the stalemate in respect of the PDP Senatorial Primaries in CR South.

'Shamelessly, the valiant, who subverted the Electoral process is now feigning attack and injury just to curry public sympathy. Just shameless.'
Earlier, Bassey told reporter that, 'My car was driven by Ekpo to the police station and left there and when I went to meet him in the hotel to discuss on how the election can take place, I was attacked and wounded. I am now in hospital.'
