UNICAL dons inducted into NAL

Two erudite Professors, namely, Margaret Mary Okon and Bassey A. Okon of the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Calabar (UNICAL), have been formally inducted as members into the Nigerian Academy of letters (NAL). 

They were inducted during the 20th Convocation and Investiture of new fellows which took place on Thursday 9th August, 2018 at the J.F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

In the same vein, the event also witnessed a convocation lecture –entitled ”Plural Loyalties and Multiple identities in Post-Independence Nigeria”.

The lecture which was delivered by Prof. Siyan Oyewoso, a Professor of History, Osun State University, was followed by a convocation luncheon.

The body also held an Annual General Meeting (AGM) which climaxed with the election of Prof. Francis Egbokhare of the University of Ibadan as the new NAL President.
