World Peace Day : P4P to observe high day in Calabar

The Climate Action for Peace-themed World Peace Day is billed be observed in Calabar, Cross River state by pro-peace civil society organisation Partners for Peace in the Niger Delta P4P NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
As part of activities to celebrate the international day, P4P will embark on a sensitisation campaign which will involve a 3km walk along designated streets of Calabar beginning from the Goodluck Jonathan Bypass Roundabout to the community Town Hall of Nyaghasang area in the early hours of the day, an advocacy talk to Nigerians resident in the landslide community of Nyaghasang with the aim of sensitising them against anti-environment activities and extracting commitments in that regard, and a radio talk show which will hold concurrently with the 3km walk.
According to the website of the United Nations annually the International Day of Peace is celebrated around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has proclaimed this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
However in respect of the emphasis for this year's edition of the day : climate action for peace, the UN says the theme highlights the significance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world.
Partners for Peace is network supported by the Foundation of Partners Initiative in the Niger Delta PIND whose mission is to build social capital around peace building through amplifying the voices of positive actors, building a network of self-identified agents of peace and leveraging that network to facilitate peace.
