As the 9th Cross River State House of Assembly CRSHA resumed sitting, Tuesday after a working recess of about 5 weeks which commenced December 31, 2019, they turned down the governor in respect of a handful of requests NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively.
Particularly, Governor Ben Ayade’s request to approve 30 more Special Advisers was declined by the state legislature on the basis that Members are not carried along in appointments.
Secondly, the request for credit facility of N15 billion from UBA for developmental and allied projects in the state for 120 months at an interest rate of 15% was summarily rejected by the 25 members House as well.
Speaker Eteng Jonah Williams-led State House of Assembly frowned at the borrowing request, saying they cannot continue approving loans and making the state financially insolvent.
Again, the House frowned at the hand picking of Councillors and Chairmanship candidates ahead of March 28 LG polls in the state.
