HIV/AIDS Response: Dep. Gov. Ivara Esu commissions Situation Room facility in Cross River

The Deputy Governor of Cross River state, Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu says the Situation Room facility for the HIV/AIDS intervention will help Government to achieve its objective to reduce the prevalence rate to zero level NEGROIDHAVEN can say.
Professor Esu stated this at the commissioning of the Situation Room established at the Ministry of Health, Secretariat Headquarters, Calabar.
The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude for the energy and quick response from the ministry of health, House of Assembly and Partners who are working tirelessly to ensure that the health of the citizens are in the best condition.
He said the State Government will continue to provide effective and affordable health facilities for the benefit of the people and thanked the Family Health International – FHI 360 for their contributions to the establishment of the Situation Room facility.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu asserted that the Situation Room for HIV/AIDS is liken to a war Situation Room, where activities are monitored, analyzed, planned and used the outcome to decide on how best one can  respond to emerging  situations.
She maintained that the situation room is designed to specifically serve the HIV/AIDS intervention as part of the requirements to strengthen the HIV response in the State.
The FHI 360 representative explained that the Situation Room is the engine room of the project which is now possible to reach out to many communities in terms of monitoring and management. He added that the facility has a link to all the Local Government Council Areas in the State.
