C’River is not your state, repent or relocate – CP warns kidnappers, cultist
The Police Command has paraded 15 suspected cultist in connection with the civil disturbance recorded at 8miles – Calabar, yesterday night
Also in the group are persons apprehended with a truck load of chemical items looted from the Cross River State Rice Seeds and Seedlings Factory – Calabar, a suspected kidnapper and two suspected armed robbers from Obudu Local Government attempting to make entry into the Obudu Mountain Resort.
In a press briefing by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulkadir Jimoh stated clearly that Cross River State is not a home for such persons, while issuing an ultimatum to them to either repent or relocate.
“My advice to them is that Cross River is not their State, they should either repent or rellocate because the law will catch up with them and they will be dealt with international best practices”, the CP warned.
The Commissioner also noted that the Police Command of Cross River State remains unrelenting in actions against the incessant activities of these miscreants and have so far been operating on the orders of the IG which gave them the authorization to take charge and own the space after the #ENDSARS unfortunate outcome.
In his words, “we want to inform you that notwithstanding what has happened, the command is still working.
“Today along 8miles, we intercepted a lorry load of chemicals, that are suspected to have been looted from the Rice City, during the #ENDSARS saga. Suspects could not give adequate account of the looted items. They claimed they where on their way to Akwa Ibom State, but when we contacted the Government, the SA Agric confirmed that the chemicals were looted from their warehouse during the violence demonstration”
The CP described the group of persons as economic saboteurs, explaining that the briefing became necessary to firm their position to the general public that regardless of their losses as a result of the attack against their formation that claimed the lives of two policemen in the State and several others injured, the force is not deterred.
“The essence of this briefing is to show that notwithstanding our losses in the State because some of our formations were attacked and we lost two men and others injured, we still obey the clarion call of the IG, to occupy the space and ensure that citizens enjoy policing. That is why i feel it is necessary for the people Cross River to know that the police is still working”, he assured.
Additionally, the Commissioner of police also noted that steps are being taken to ensure adequate prosecution of the apprehended 120 criminal looters under the guise of the #ENDSARS protest that carried out the wanton looting of the state, emphasizing that close to 95 of them have been arraigned in courts and are being remanded.
