2021 Budget: Mayor of Calabar presents N9.5 billion appropriation bill

The Mayor of Calabar, Hon. Effefiong Eke, Wednesday, presented the 2021 Appropriation Law tagged ‘The New Face Agenda Budget’.

Eke made the presentation at the hallowed chamber of the legislative arm of Calabar Municipality pegging the financial proposal at Nine billion, nine hundred and fifty nine million, six hundred and four thousand, eight hundred naira only (N9, 959, 604, 800.00).

According to sources, the New Face Agenda budget which has earmarked fourty-three percent for capital projects and fifty-seven percent for recurrent expenditure has the gross components of administering peace, creating a stable and resourceful community where industry, commerce and tourism thrives.

The source added that the budget is designed to deliver a welfarist formation where unemployment will be reduced to the barest minimum by the creation of an accommodating economic environment for local businesses to operate, a reduction in crime and promotion of manpower development.

The Mayor redefines his policies and programs gearing towards repositioning the aesthetics and economic architecture of the first Capital metropolitan city of Nigeria, hence the need to rebrand and propagate a futuristic disposition and a historic view to the expected ultimate eldorado.
