A Nigerian lawyer has asserted that all the trending social media video footages showing the confessions of Chidinma Ojukwu over the alleged murder of Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga are irrelevant in competent court of law NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

F. Baba Isa Esq. explained that insofar as those confessions are not made in the company of her lawyer, they are invalid.

He made this disclosure on his verified social media account on Sunday while reacting to a contrary opinion made by an anonymous interlocutor.

Isa consequently frowned at the Nigerian Police for being overtly disposed to media trials than given to conducting proper investigation. He added that the judiciary has failed.

‘…Nigerians, all those videos are not admissible in court as confessional statement o. There are certain requirements which must be in place before a suspect’s confessions (confessional statement) can be admitted in court against him or her to ground a conviction.

‘One of such elementary requirement is that it must be done in the presence of the suspect’s lawyer. Una see Chidinma lawyer there? So, you see all those videos of her confessing are useless in court if her lawyer wasn’t there, plus the absence of certain other requirements.

When we say our police should leave media trial and do proper investigation and evidence gathering so that they can easily nail criminals in court, they will not listen.

Tomorrow, a smart lawyer will point out all these lacunas and Chidinma will be set free in court and una go begin say lawyers are liars, the judiciary has failed us…’

An Abuja-based legal practitioner, Efa Oka Esq., has corroborated Isa when he said ‘I can assure you that Chidinma will walk free WITH THE RIGHT LAWYER.’

Last week, a 21-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos, Chidinma Ojukwu, narrated how she stabbed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, to death in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
