*WhoIsAfraidOfOsinbajo

This hashtag made waves on Koo and other social media platforms, as many people commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his sterling leadership qualities.

They say that many opposition figures are now apprehensive of Prof Osinbajo because of his intimidating credentials and track record of achievements.

Speaking of the VP, @akinkanbayii, said, “To be an outstanding man, one must pay attention to certain life principles. PYO is loyal, humble and has the love of many at heart. Any plot to assassinate his good deeds will fail #WhoIsAfraidOfOsinbajo.”

Another user, @M_SB recalled that “Nigeria came out of recession after five consecutive quarters of negative growth beginning in the first quarter of 2016, thanks to VP Osinbajo for the result-driven policies focusing on the non-oil sector especially the agricultural sector, one of the key areas of economic diversification of this administration.

“Life is a hate arcade. Once the spotlight isn‘t on people, they get frustrated, kick and begin to attack. Just the same way Osinbajo gives “ Atiku “and his E-rats nightmares, not as if he has said he wants to run come 2023.

“When we ask #WhoIsAfraidOfOsinbajo?

You have a little knowledge of those who are really afraid of the good man whose good name can never be smeared.”

As for @Chigozirim, “Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is on top of his game, he has contributed immensely to the growth of this Nation. As far as Nigeria is concerned, the Future is bright for Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. All these tantrums to tarnish his image will come to nothing.”

@samoj001 concluded that “Many opposition members are already seeing this man as a threat come 2023, he has risen the bar too high for the next vice president.

#whoisafraidofosinbajo.”

*NYSC

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says there is no COVID-19 positive corps member in any of the 37 orientation camps nationwide.

The NYSC spokesperson, Adenike Adeyemi, who disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja, also debunked the rumours making the rounds in both the mainstream and new media that 109 corps members had tested positive COVID-19.

Many Nigerians in the past few days have been expressing fears over reports on social media that some corp members had tested positive to COVID-19.

This, however, led to calls for prospective corp members to boycott their call-up to the camp.

The clarification from the NYSC management has brought some form of relief to both parents and guardians whose children and wards are participating in the one-year mandatory service.

*Pastor

Nigerians have condemned the murder of a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God by unknown gunmen.

According to reports, the clergyman was gunned down on the altar of the church located inside Maidan village in Ikosi Ketu Local Government Area of Lagos.

The deceased was said to be praying during a child dedication when gunmen broke into the church.

Condemning the incident, a cross-section of social media users say the killing underscores the high level of insecurity in the country, and that it was sacrilegious for anyone to murder a pastor inside a church.

They called on the government to do more to arrest the degenerating security situation in the country.

*Naira

Hope seems to be rising as the Naira extended its gain against the U.S. Dollar at the unofficial market window on Tuesday by rising to 508 per $1.

According to reports, the currency closed with a N4.00 or 0.80 percent appreciation from the N512.00 rate it exchanged hands on Monday.

Reacting to the development, those who supported the CBN’s ban on the sale of Forex to Bureau De Change operators, expressed hope that the Naira would continue to record more gains against the Dollar.

This is even as they urged the apex bank to ensure proper monitoring and implementation of the policy, which they believe would usher in a new regime for the country’s currency to regain its value.
