Why C/Riverians could not ‘access’ the 2021 Budget estimates… SA Otu Otu Ita explains

Insights have emerged touching on the inability of Nigerians resident in and indigenous to Cross River to access the 2021 Appropriation Law despite being published on designated virtual platforms NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

It was observed that Cross Riverians could not download the 2021 Appropriation Law possibly due to the technical issues surrounding the browser they are using at the time in either their mobile devices and other web surfing facilities.

This disclosure was made on Tuesday by Otu Otu Ita the Special Adviser on Budget to the Governor of Cross River state during the One-day Consultative Forum for 2021 Proposed Budget Preparation which held at CRGIA Conference Room in Calabar the state capital metropolis.

According to SA Otu, ‘Unfortunately, Budget Office is yet to host an independent website but, at the moment you can track the Cross River budget at the State Internal Revenue Service website address which is www.crirs.ng… It depends on the browser you are using, the website is not accessible to all browser, but I know that if you are using a desktop and Mozilla Firefox, you can download all our updates’.

Otu observed that the government of Cross River state under Ben Ayade is interested in participatory democracy where the citizenry should participate in the budget preparation and implementation processes. He disclosed that the state budget office will host an independent website before the end of 2021.

The One-day Consultative Forum for 2021 Proposed Budget Preparation which witnessed presentations from the SA Budget, and relevant MDAs, was well attended by a cross-section of the media, civil society organisations, Community Based Organisations, and traditional rulers.

The 2022 budget estimates covers five sectors, General administration, Economy, Law and Justice, Regional Development, and Social Services.
