We’ve received an impressive return on the referendum –C’River Privatisation Council

The Cross River Privatisation Council has notified the public that they have received quite an impressive reaction on the completed questionnaire for the just concluded independent analysis and collation on the ongoing move to privatise over forty public enterprises NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

This development was disclosed on Tuesday in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis during a press briefing organised by the Council.

Recall that the council had introduced a referendum as part of the current initiative to privatise forty-six state-owned enterprises. The results from the exercise just came in.

Mr John M. Odo the Chair of the Privatisation Council observed that the distribution of the questionnaire covered the 18 LGAs of the state, including trade unions, professional bodies, religious and traditional organisations, student bodies, civil servants and the organised labour, ‘Indeed, we received an impressive returns of the completed questionnaire for independent analysis and collation’.

Odo further informed that the council invited the referendum to KPMG, relevant MDAs especially the Due Process and Intelligence Bureau, State Auditor General Office, State Bureau, and Bureau of Public Private Partnership (BPPP) ‘to witness and as well anchor the analysis and collation of the required questionaire’.

On her part, Rosemary Archibong the Commissioner for Commerce said Cross Riverians should ‘get involved and take part in the ownership of these industries, don’t just be members of the gallery’.
