A young Nigerian of Cross River indigenisation has been commended for his characteristic pro-youth political disposition NEGROIDHAVEN can say.

Andrew Thomas of Youth Alliance for Cross River Voters has been commended by a civil society group, namely, Support for Girls, Boys and Women Initiative, SUGBWi for his recurrent calls to Nigerian youth to participate in the electoral process of the country.

In a statement made available to our newsroom in Calabar during the early hours of Wednesday, Hon. Grace Bassey, the Executive Director of SUGBWi observed that Thomas’s call to Nigerian youth at the virtual conference organised by Youth Alliance for Cross River Voters which held on Tuesday via Zoom and themed: ‘Preparing the youths for the task ahead: an insight into choosing the right person’, was a reflection of his deep sitted believe in Nigerian youths to make a difference politically.

Hon. Bassey’s statements read in part, ‘optimism is what Nigeria and Nigerian youths require to spur them to patriotism and service to their motherland. In the midst of the current disillusionment, Thomas’s and such other calls comes out as an inspiration and a rainbow of hope and encouragement.

‘We also recall that during SUGBWi’s Empower Girls at Rural Communities project, Thomas came in handy and laudably to support our initiative. We call on other well-meaning Nigerians and Cross Riverians to emulate him’.
