Asibong Receives New UNFPA Head of Office, Rakovic

The Cross River State Government yesterday received the new Cross River State Head of Office of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), Marija Rakovic who has taken over from her predecessor, Mr Kenneth Ehouzou, following his transfer earlier on to another country.

Receiving the new Head of Office on behalf of the state government in her office in Calabar, the Commissioner, Ministry of International Development Cooperation (MIDC), Dr. Inyang Asibong, welcomed Rakovic to Cross River State whilst acknowledging collaborations between the Governor Ben Ayade led Administration and the UN organizations.

Dr Asibong said Rakovic’s posting to Cross River State was timely due to the understanding of the state government and UNFPA in pursuit of Governor Ayade’s vision of service dilivery to the state.

Responding to the MIDC Commissioner’s welcome remarks, Marija Rakovic did not hesitate in lauding the efforts of His Excellency Governor Ben Ayade towards ensuring sustainable development, fostering social safety for women, the girl child and children in the State.
