The People Democratic Party, PDP have won the pooling Unit of Gov. Ben Ayade’s Political Adviser, Chief Peter Ojie in Mbumbe west ward, Odajie-Mbube, Ogoja LGA of Cross River state
At the pooling Unit located at Christ the King Primary School Mbube west II, Ward II, PU007, PDP garnered 102 votes to defeat APC that scored 63 votes.
The pooling Unit which has been under the control of Peter Ojie since 1999 who is the Senior Special Adviser on political matters to Gov Ayade was for lost for the first time.
A businessman and CEO Obi Achara Nigeria Limited, Chief Obi James Achara and a staunch supporter of Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe said it was high time young people took charge.
Obi who is also a PDP stalwart said there was no need for violence of any sort noting that if politicians work for the people they will easily gain the trust and votes of the people.
Some of the indigenes expressed happiness over the victory stressing that they have been liberated from the shackles and monopoly of a leader who had brought them nothing in the last 20 years.
