Nigerian lawmaker bids mother farewell

A female Nigerian lawmaker from Cross River, Nigeria’s south southern geopolitical extraction has bade her late mother farewell.

Ms Grace Etim Bassey of Ward 7 in Bakassi LGA of Cross River yesterday bade late Mrs Nkoyo Etim her biological mother of Usung Idim Ikot Antigha Esighi farewell from mother Earth.

Late Etim who passed on on 7th January 2022 this year after a protracted illness being born 53 years ago was interred at her late husband’s residence in Ikot Okon Ekpri Iwong under Akwa Ubom Nkoho Anie Clan on Saturday 2nd April 2021.

While eulogising her late mom, Hon Bassey said ‘My mother was a supper woman, very hard-working and devoted Christian. We both have passed through a lot in life and as such she was so dear to me. But I feel fulfilled for giving her a befitting burial ceremony, thanks to God almighty, Church of Christ – Nigeria and to those who supported us financially to have a successful burial ceremony: they are too numerous to mention, I deeply appreciate you all.’

The interment ceremony was well attended by family, friends, colleagues, public officials, community, etc.
