INEC National Commissioner Festus Okoye to speak at Sparkling FM’s 4th anniversary public lecture

Calabar’s premier radio station SPARKLING 92.3FM is set to celebrate her 4th Anniversary with a public lecture aimed at sensitizing political actors against spread of disinformation ahead of the general elections.

Chairman of the events planning committee Ota Udeh said, “Election in Nigeria has been characterised by violence misinformation, vote buying but this is time we need to change the narrative as individuals and organization”.

He further stressed that, “as a station we have seen the need to spread the message of peace and not the Virus violence hence the need for proper education and sensitization. We hope to build a peaceful Nigeria and a better cross river state through proper sensitization and quality broadcasting.”

INEC’s National Commissioner, Information and Voters Education Festus Okoye will be speaking on the topic political Disinformation causing the spread of violence through the use of the Media.

The event which will be interactive will offer insights on how prepared the electoral umpire in Nigeria is for the forthcoming elections.

The Management of SPARKLING 92.3FM CALABAR is using this opportunity to invite political stakeholders, public affairs analysts, political parties, religious and traditional institutions the Media amongst others to be part of this event. It is scheduled to hold on the 12th day of May, 2022 at Transcop Hotels Calabar.
