Ekpenyong Akpanika emerges prelate of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria

His Eminence, Most Reverend Ekpenyong Nyong Akpanika Ph.D., has emerged the new Prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, PCN after winning the Monday, 15th August 2022 General Assembly,GA elections conducted at Hope Waddell, Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis.

In a similar breadth, the vacant office of the Deputy Clerk of the GA of the PCN got filled by Rt. Rev. Victor Aniefiok Atakpo after winning the elections at the 25th GA summit.

The revered office of Prelate of The PCN and Moderator of the General Assembly is one with a four year tenure. The PCN is a church founded in 1846.

Akpanika is a (university) teacher at the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies of the University of Calabar, Calabar. He is the first Prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria of Efik indigenisation from Ishie Clan in Calabar.
