This observation was made by one of the participants of the event Mr Edem Darlington a journalist and chair of Association of Cross River Online Journalists, ACROJ. Edem made the observation on the second day of the three days event during the question and answer session after the presentation by Dr Chris Uwadoka touching on Sustaining and Deepening Results of the State Fiscal Transparency and Accountability (SFTAS) Programme.

According to Edem, ‘My observation is that for an event of this magnitude, the public servants who are supposed to be here to benefit have left the workshop after presenting their goodwill messages leaving their respective representatives, members of civil society organisations in the state as well as the media’.

The presidency organised an awareness and sensitisation programme/workshop on transparency and accountability.

The awareness campaign which is themed ‘Sustaining the Gains of Fiscal Transparency & Accountability in States’ and holding in Calabar the Cross River state capital metropolis is organised by the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. The event which is holding between 21st and 23rd November is facilitated by Order Paper.
