Nigeria’s anti-graft agencies have been asked not to probe allegation touching on the embezzlement of five hundred billion Naira (N500,000.00) only by governor of Cross River state NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

The Centre for Effective Leadership Development and Conciliation, CELDCON has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC to ignore the allegations made by the Network Against Corruption and Human Trafficking against the outgoing governor of Cross River state.

According to CELDCON, the alleging organisation are paid jobbers designed to assassinate the character of the Gov Ben Ayade. They further added that Network Against Corruption and Human Trafficking does not know what they are alleging about. Again, CELDCON argued that The Network is malicious against Cross River seeing that it does not have in its membership any Cross River.

‘In one of “Network Against Corruption and Human Trafficking’s” allegation, they accused the Governor of embezzling a particular amount in February, 2015, meanwhile the Governor took over office in May, 29th 2015, meaning that the Network Against Corruption and Human Trafficking are either paid jobbers to Assassinate the Character of the Governor or they don’t really know what they are saying/doing?

‘…But in this case, we are so worried as an Organization that the said Group has people from other States and no Cross Riverian is a member of their Group, making it more suspicious because Cross Riverians know better than outsiders’, CELDCON argued.

In an earlier section, CELDCON noted that given the revenue of the state and the monthly wage bill it was impossible for the governor to have stolen such amount of money.

The outgoing Governor of Cross River State has been accused recently by Network Against Corruption and Human Trafficking for embezzling Five Hundred Billion Naira (500,000,000,000) as Cross River State Governor.

The Centre for Effective Leadership Development and Conciliation, CELDCON is a Nationwide Civil Society, Liberty, Accountability, Transparency, Effective Leadership and Good Governance Advocacy Group Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC and in partnership with Anti-Graft Agencies to join hands/contribute in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
